The ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera seamlessly integrates with the ecobee line of thermostats, which is why we recommend this camera (we think the ecobee 3 Lite thermostat is the best thermostat for short term rentals).
Setting this camera up is a snap, and it will also enable the security features that ecobee offers – turning your thermostat into a control center for your security system. During our testing, this camera did a good job with it’s smart detection capabilities (people & packages).
The downside to this camera is that you must pay the $5 (or more) monthly subscription to get any smart detection notifications and stored video content. If you don’t want to pay a monthly subscription, we highly recommend the UniFi Doorbell Pro.
