The Yale Smart Cabinet Lock has many practical uses for a short term rental. Just a couple examples of the many uses for this device include:

  • Locking certain kitchen cabinets off only for the host, automatically locking or unlocking based on location Mode
  • Creating a locked drawer to store spare batteries, allowing you control of when the batteries are being used and therefore need replaced
  • Storing back-up remotes that guests should only access having issues and talking with you

One hitch is that the device is battery powered, so we recommend getting an AC power adapter for the CR2 battery.

Note: This lock should not be used to secure important items, as it is meant to break away and open if the batteries die. Alcohol, money or dangerous chemicals or tools should not be locked off using this device.

Note: Our goal with these device recommendations is to help you get your short-term rental automated quickly, reliably and securely. We want you to use our software, so we have provided these recommendations to help you get started.
