The Zooz Z-Wave Double Switch ZEN30 is an excellent option if you are limited in the electrical box size you have available but need two different switches. It has one switch that works as a dimmer, and the other that works as an on/off switch, which is perfect for controlling the lights and then having the separate switch for a fan (as an example).
We used this switch in one of our bathrooms, and there are only two downsides we have found:
- The switch doesn’t add very well to SmartThings as a normal device, since it is actually two switches. We haven’t tested this with the Zooz-specific drivers, but we did get it to show up successfully as two separate devices in our SmartThings location and can control the switches independently
- It is a bit unclear to short-term rental guests where the fan switch is, and the size of the fan switch can be difficult to press. We had to put little labels on the switch to make it understandable to guests.
Everything else about this switch has been fantastic, and it has been a great addition to our setup. We’d prefer to have separate switches for these two devices but the layout of the room and the electrical box prevented us from being able to have two separate switches. We’ve been really happy with it and it has performed very well for us.
